GMA400
Powerful controller for monitoring gases in sophisticated applications
Applications in which combustible and toxic gases or the concentration of oxygen need to be monitored are getting more and more complex - and so do the requirements they have for gas detection systems. The performance and technical possibilities of the GMA400-MT contribute to the safety of people, facilities and the environment even in the most challenging conditions. A single GMA400-MT can monitor up to 128 transmitters or measuring channels as well as 32 virtual transmitters for calculated parameters or environmental influences. The controller features an integrated network interface for Modbus TCP integration as well as access via a web interface. Up to 128 relays can be added to its eight integrated ones. In addition to the large colour display giving you an overview of the measured values directly on site, decentralised display modules and large displays can be added for further visualisation.
The role of transmitters in fixed gas detection systems is to monitor the ambient air for dangerous gas concentrations. Depending on the application, this can include the lower explosion limits of combustible gases and vapours, short-term and long-term values of toxic gases or the oxygen concentration. To choose the right transmitter and sensor technology, you will have to consider several different factors, such as the type of gases and measuring ranges, environmental conditions and potentially explosive areas. A controller's role is to then evaluate and display the measured gas concentration as well as activating safety measures. The GMA400-MT is the right choice for you if
- you need a controller for up to 128 measuring points
- you want to manage safety measures on the controller
- the measured values need to be displayed centrally
- all data must be available centrally via ethernet
- you want a future-oriented solution for both old and new gas detection systems
One controller - numerous possibilities
The GMA400-MT controller and the up to 128 digital transmitters that can be connected to it form a fixed gas detection system for measuring toxic and combustible gases as well as the oxygen concentration. Since the GMA400-MT is compatible with every GfG transmitter and every available type of gas, the number of potential combinations of gases, measuring points and Ex zones which can be monitored simultaneously is quite large. Up to 16 transmitters can be connected via analog inputs. All analog transmitter connections are also capable of using ACDC communication. Our patented ACDC technology uses existing 4-20 mA lines for digital, bidirectional communication between the controller and the transmitters. This allows you to modernise your gas detection system without elaborate and expensive recabling. The number of connected analog, ACDC-capable controllers can be increased by 24 (to up to 128), using the GMA400-AT24 module.
Modern and safe communication
The GMA400 has a network interface with up to 100 Mbit/s, making any TCP gateway solutions unnecessary. The network interface also allows you to access the controller on a web interface. It can be secured against unauthorised access with a password.
Easy integration of safety measures
The more complex a gas detection system is, the more extensive are the alarm and safety measures that come with it. To manage them, you will need relays. The GMA400-MT comes with eight internal relays whose number can be increased by up to 128 using external relay modules. Each GfG relay module offers 16 floating-changeover relay contacts for effective control of your safety measures.
Detailed display for an ideal overview
The high-resolution 2.4-inch colour display offers different display modes which you can switch between easily. Choose between one measuring point's detailed view, a group view or an overview of all connected transmitters. The detailed view mode displays information on the current measured value, including the type of gas and unit, the maximum and minimum values as well as short-term and long-term values of a single measuring point. In the group view, you will find summarised information on certain transmitters, e.g. in a particular area of your plant, while the overview mode will display the most relevant data on all connected transmitters. There are five intuitive buttons right next to the display, allowing you to easily navigate the menu and acknowledge alarms.
